Long Term Care - Respite - Residential Care - Vernon, B.C.
You have the option in B.C. of paying privately for long-term/residential care. Doing this ensures that you will get the room type of your choice at the home you want to stay in.
Because there are no government waiting lists, it is often possible to move in immediately, and there are no government-specified eligibility criteria for you to meet. Everything is between you and your chosen home, and there is no need to contact a local health authority or third party.
And if you’re waiting for government-subsidized care, that’s fine too. Staying in a private-pay room will not affect your position on the government-subsided long-term/residential care waiting list. But of course, you’re welcome to stay with us for as long as you want. We’re happy to help you with anything you may need.
Hearthstone Manor is a private pay, privately owned facility, this has many advantages to our resident's and their families. Because it is private pay the resident pays the monthly fee without help from the government. The fee is 100% tax deductible and if the resident is a Veteran on a pension DVA may support a large portion of the monthly fee.
Some insurance companies and pension funds also contribute to the cost of long term care.
All residents are screened for compatibility - It is important to maintain a cohesive group of residents that have similar needs and preferences. Upon application for placement our Administrator will interview the potential resident and their family to ensue the new resident is a good fit for our population.
No Budget Cuts or Staff Shortages ensure exemplary care!
Our residents are screened for compatibility!
DVA contributes to the cost of staying at Hearthstone Manor for many Veterans.
